Collaboration Benchmark Study

Enspirix, a leading collaborative workplace consulting firm announced it has joined forces with Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies to conduct a benchmark study of Collaboration in the workplace. Designed by Enspirix, the survey seeks to understand how workplace collaboration is presently practiced so it may be better utilized in achieving business breakthroughs. Interpersonal and cross-organizational collaboration is increasingly being cited as an essential ingredient of innovation.

The study was announced at the Rothman Institute’s recent Innovation Summit, a half-day seminar during which luminaries from Cisco, Novartis and 37 Signals shared insights on how their organizations leverage collaboration to produce new innovations. Interested parties need not have attended the Innovation Summit seminar to participate in the survey, which is open to all respondents until 5 PM EST on June 12, 2009.

‘We’re encouraging anyone interested in collaboration in the workplace to participate in this study,’ said John P. Crawford, Managing Partner at Enspirix who spearheaded the survey development effort. ‘The more people and organizations that participate, the richer and more meaningful the survey results will be.’

The study, being conducted in the form of an on-line survey, features thirty items relevant to collaboration in the workplace. Content for the inquiry was synthesized from prior studies and opinion leading theory on distributed work groups, virtual teams and social network analysis. Data collection and analytics are being provided by Confirmit, a global leader in research and enterprise feedback management headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
